Things to do in Santiago: Historical Circuit in Santiago (3 - 4 days)
activities |
To thouroughly know the city we recommend you staying a few days to visit and enjoy the historical buildings downtown and a few blocks away from Casaltura.
We recommend a complete walk through the civic neighbourhood where you can see the Plaza de la Constitución, place where the Government house, Palacio de La Moneda, is located. There you can watch the daily guard change and see it from inside. You can also see the Plaza de la Ciudadanía, a modern underground space with one of the largest cultural centers in South America.Six blocks to the north is the imposing Biblioteca Nacional, construction at a side of the Cerro Santa Lucía, foundation place of Santiago where the first Spanish fort was built - great patrimonial value.
A few steps away, following the main avenue in Santiago, you will find the Iglesia de San Francisco, the oldest building in Santiago, an imposing colonial structure with a museum inside.
